On Monday, Apple came out with the latest updated version of the iOS 16.5 release for beta testers and developers. Apple news from the previous week pointed towards the technology giant ensuring that the iPhone update was available to everyone this week. The beta versions of the release would be bringing in more security patches, as well as improvements to the OS, which includes a new Pride wallpaper, as well as a sports tab in Apple News- which would initially be available to both developers and public beta users.
While the newest features could be a lot of fun, it would be better if one were to download the beta version on a device that wasn’t the primary phone, in the event that the new software created problems. Apple has also provided its beta testers with an app called Feedback, which could be used to notify the company about the latest issues in the new software.
Apple iOS 16.5 Has Brought In New Features
In the release candidate for iOS 16.5, Apple added a couple of preloaded Pride Celebration wallpapers to the new Pride wallpaper section. The wallpaper section, for those unaware, was previously introduced in the beta 4 versions of the same iOS. The wallpaper section has been designed with the colors of the Pride flag in order to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, as understood by the description given by the company.
The Apple News app was launched in 2015, and the first iOS 16.5 beta brought this Sports tab to the app for the very first time. This tab can be accessed through the toolbar across the bottom of one’s screen when one opens the app. Previously, the toolbar displayed multiple tabs for News Plus, Today, Audio, Search, and Following. The iOS 16.5 beta 1 got rid of the Search tab in order to make more room for the Sports tab.
