iOS 18.2 Beta 4 Released for Download

The iOS 18.2 beta 4 has officially been released for developers as we prepare for the upcoming public launch next month. This update introduces significant new features centered around Apple Intelligence, a revamped Mail application, enhancements to Find My, and much more.

It is important to note that iOS 18.2 beta 4 is not available as an over-the-air update yet. Instead, developers can download it directly from Apple’s developer website, with the over-the-air option expected to follow shortly.

This developer beta comes with the build number 22C5142a. A new public beta version is anticipated to be released later this week. The iOS 18.2 update is compatible with all iPhones that support iOS 18, although the Apple Intelligence features are exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and all models of the iPhone 16.

Among the key highlights of iOS 18.2 are the new Apple Intelligence features:

  • Image Playground provides a way to create “fun images in seconds” simply by typing, presenting two options: Animation and Illustration.
  • Genmoji enables users to produce custom emojis based on textual descriptions.
  • Users can now access ChatGPT when interacting with Siri in iOS 18.2.
  • The Writing Tools section now includes a “Compose” button for generating text on selected topics, along with a “describe your change” option.
  • Visual intelligence utilizes the capability of the iPhone 16’s camera to increase your knowledge about your surroundings.
  • Image Wand in the Notes app allows users to convert basic sketches into “delightful images” and create visuals informed by the content in their notes.
