With Image Playground, users can generate entertaining images in just seconds, selecting from three unique styles: Animation, Illustration, or Sketch. This intuitive app is embedded in apps like Messages, and a standalone version is available for those who wish to explore various concepts and styles. Since all images are produced on the device, users have the liberty to create as many images as they desire.
Within the Image Playground app, you can select an image from your Photos library to start with. Pictures can be crafted based on yourself or any individual featured in your library. You can personalize these images using text descriptions, allowing for endless combinations of customized visuals.
The app offers various themes, locations, outfits, and accessories to inspire your creations. These suggestions are curated by Apple’s editors to enhance your imagination.
The outputs from Image Playground are not intended to be photorealistic. Instead, users can opt for either animation or illustration styles. After generating an image, you can swipe through multiple previews to select the one you prefer.
Image Playground is more than just a standalone app; it is also integrated into several other applications on your iPhone. For example, it can be accessed via the Messages app for convenience. Additionally, it will be included in apps like Keynote, Pages, and Freeform, plus an API is available for third-party developers to incorporate Image Playground into their applications.
iOS 18.2 devices
iOS 18.2 is compatible with all devices that support iOS 18. However, the Apple Intelligence features, including the new Image Playground app, are exclusively available for the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
