iOS 18.3 Beta 2 Resolves Major Calculator Bug From Last Fall

Apple has just rolled out the second beta of iOS 18.3. While there haven’t been many significant changes in this version, one noteworthy fix has been made to the Calculator app, a feature users have frequently requested since the redesign in iOS 18.

Repeating operations are back after being removed in iOS 18

When Apple launched iOS and iPadOS 18 in September, the updates included various enhancements to many system applications.

The Calculator app was included in these updates.

For the first time, the Calculator made its debut on the iPad, accompanied by various updates for the iPhone version.

However, not all of these modifications have been positively received.

One significant drawback was the removal of the feature that allowed users to repeat operations.

Previously, after completing a calculation, pressing the equals button repeatedly would enable further calculations.

For instance, after calculating 5 x 8 and pressing equals, the result of 40 would display. You could then press equals again to multiply 40 by 8, yielding 320, which could be multiplied by 8 again with another equals press.

This functionality was taken away in iOS 18 but has now been reinstated in the iOS 18.3 beta 2.

Now you can press the equals button repeatedly to perform additional calculations as desired.
