In July of last year, South Korean residents initiated a petition urging Apple to enable Find My features in their country. While it was initially believed that government regulations were the reason for Find My’s unavailability, the petition clarified that this was not the case.
Apple has since committed to launching Find My support in the area by spring 2025, with the rollout now beginning.
As noted by Aaron Perris on X, the Find My network is now functioning in South Korea as of the release of iOS 18.4 beta 1. This advancement will allow residents to locate their lost devices and will also contribute to preventing theft, as the activation lock feature is dependent on Find My—an important point noted by petition supporters.
We anticipate the public release of iOS 18.4 in April, which will include several enhancements such as Priority Notifications, a new Food section in the Apple News app, and more. For additional details on what’s new in the iOS 18.4 beta, check out our dedicated guide.
If you reside in South Korea and are keen to try out the iOS 18.4 beta, you can finally enjoy a long-awaited feature on your iPhone.
