The second Release Candidate build for iOS 18.4 is now being distributed to developers and public beta testers. Alongside this rollout, Apple has published the official release notes for iOS 18.4 for the first time. These notes include much of what has been shared on DMN over the previous month, along with some fresh details.
Apple has announced that iOS 18.4 will be available to all users in April. As beta testing comes to a close, we may see a release date as soon as next week.
iOS 18.4 will be compatible with all iPhone models running iOS 18. However, the Apple Intelligence features will only be accessible on a select group of these devices. Below is the complete list:

Apple Intelligence (Available on all iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max)
- Priority notifications are now positioned at the top of your notifications, ensuring important alerts are highlighted for immediate attention.
- Sketch has been introduced as a new style option in Image Playground, enabling the creation of beautiful sketches.
- Apple Intelligence features now support 8 additional languages and 2 new English locales, including English (India, Singapore), French (France, Canada), German (Germany), Italian (Italy), Japanese (Japan), Korean (South Korea), Portuguese (Brazil), Simplified Chinese, and Spanish (Spain, Latin America, US).
Apple Vision Pro App
- The newly available Apple Vision Pro app, automatically installed for users with Apple Vision Pro, assists in discovering new content and spatial experiences and provides quick access to device information.
Apple News+
- Recipes from premier recipe publishers are now accessible on Apple News+.
- Recipe Catalog allows browsing or searching for the ideal dish, which can then be saved to your Saved Recipes.
- Cooking mode simplifies following step-by-step recipes.
- The Food section now features stories about restaurants, kitchen tips, healthy eating, and more.
Photos
- New filters enable users to show or hide items not contained in an album or synced from a Mac or PC in the Library view of Photos.
- Items in Media Types and Utilities collections within Photos can now be reordered.
- Consistent filtering options are available across all collections, including sorting by oldest or newest first in Photos.
- Albums can now be sorted by Date Modified in Photos.
- The option to disable “Recently Viewed” and “Recently Shared” collections is now available in Photos Settings.
- If Face ID is used in Photos settings, hidden photos will not be included when importing to a Mac or PC.
This update also features the following enhancements and bug fixes:
- Safari now provides recent search suggestions to quickly revisit previous search topics when starting a new query.
- The Setup Assistant simplifies the process for parents to create a Child Account for their child, allowing for child-appropriate default settings if parents choose to finish setting it up later.
- Screen Time App Limits now persist even after a child uninstalls and reinstalls an app.
- The App Store now includes summaries for user reviews, providing helpful insights from other users at a glance.
- Download or update of an app on the App Store can be paused and resumed without losing progress.
- New widgets for Podcasts include a Followed Shows widget to track your favorite programs and a Library widget for quick access to sections like Latest Episodes, Saved, and Downloaded.
- Ambient Music now allows instant music playback from Control Center, providing a selection of hand-curated playlists for daily living.
- Apple Fitness+ Collections can now be added to your Library.
- Matter-compatible robot vacuum cleaners can be controlled through the Home app and integrated into scenes and automations.
- Support for 10 new system languages has been added, including Bangla, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
