The first beta of iOS 18.4 has been released, introducing a new iPhone app. In line with the standalone Watch app created for Apple Watch users, there is now a specific ‘Apple Vision Pro’ app for iPhone.
New app allows exploration of Vision Pro content on iPhone
visionOS 2.4 stands out as a major highlight in this upcoming Apple software cycle, marking the introduction of the first Apple Intelligence features for Vision Pro, along with a new Spatial Gallery app.
However, iPhone users are also included in the excitement.
With the arrival of iOS 18.4, iPhone users receive the ‘Apple Vision Pro’ app, serving as a central location to explore spatial content, prepare apps and games for download, gather information about your Vision Pro, and more.
Here are the complete details from Apple’s press release:
Beginning in April, Apple Vision Pro users can queue apps and games for download, explore new spatial content and experiences, easily find useful tips, and quickly get information about their device using the new Apple Vision Pro app on their iPhone. The app will be available for Vision Pro users once they update their iPhone to iOS 18.4, and can also be obtained from the App Store.
The Discover page features curated recommendations for notable new experiences available on Apple Vision Pro. Users can swiftly view popular apps and games on the App Store, nearly 300 3D movies, Apple Immersive titles, and other video content available through the Apple TV app; along with the latest spatial photos, spatial videos, and panoramas showcased in the Spatial Gallery.1 New Apple Immersive titles include “Ice Dive” from the Adventure series; “Sharks” from the Wild Life series; and Man vs. Beast. Today marks the global debut of “Arctic Surfing,” the newest episode of Boundless, while the following episode of Adventure, titled “Deep Water Solo,” will premiere next Friday, February 28.
Within the My Vision Pro page, users can find tips on maximizing their experience with Apple Vision Pro; easily access details like their current visionOS version and device serial number; and set up Personalized Spatial Audio. Those with vision correction requirements will have the ability to store and view the App Clip code for their ZEISS Optical Inserts within the Apple Vision Pro app.
As Apple mentions, Vision Pro users will have the app added to their iPhone seamlessly after upgrading to iOS 18.4.
For others, the new Apple Vision Pro app will be available for download from the App Store following the public release of iOS 18.4 and visionOS 2.4 in April.
