Lost Ark Sets New Record For Concurrent Players On Stream

Lost Ark has recently turned into one of the very few games on Steam reaching over 1 million concurrent players. Interestingly, the Diablo-style MMO has also surpassed DOTA 2 to become one of the most played games in the entire history of the gaming platform. This game was originally a free-to-play ARPGMMO which was released in South Korea back in 2019 for PC.

After gaining immense success there, the publisher of this game- Smilegate- went on to partner with Amazon to bring the game to the Western Hemisphere. It was launched in a paid early access period just a few days ago- before its official free-to-play release.

Lost Ark Breaks Steam Records

Now, after a bunch of shaky launch day issues and problems, Lost Ark is officially out there for everyone for free. And it does seem like there are a lot of people who are excited to play this game. Currently, the game has already reached around 1,297,896 players, which is more than the highest concurrent player number on Steam set by DOTA 2 at 1,295,114. This does make it the third most played game in the history of Steam based on the number of concurrent players.

Lost Ark has also surpassed the concurrent player record set by CS: GO of 1,308,963 players. It currently has the second-highest number of active players that have ever been recorded on the platform. It now residents right behind Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and its record of over 1.3 million concurrent players. It does seem very likely that this game will end up passing that number too.

Lost Ark has impressed everyone with its combat movements and how it merged common features of MMO with ARPG-Mechanics. Although the overall narrative can be a bit boring, one would definitely be listening to a podcast while playing this- so it doesn’t really matter.
