Mac Mini, MacBook Pro, Eve HomeKit Secure Camera, and More: DMN Highlights

As we enter day 2 of the Amazon Big Spring Sale, we are excited to highlight today’s top Apple deals, including a fantastic price drop on the M4 Pro Mac mini – now available at its lowest price ever, with a discount of $200 (the entry-level model is still priced at $529). Moving on to the M4 Pro MacBook Pro series, Amazon has just cut $300 off the 24GB 16-inch model, bringing it back down to the Black Friday all-time low. Lastly, the AirPods 4 with ANC are still at their base price of $100, while the ANC model has now dropped to $149. Additionally, Eve’s HomeKit Secure Video smart home camera is also at one of its lowest prices ever. More details on these offers can be found in today’s 9to5Toys Lunch Break.

New low price: Apple’s 24GB M4 Pro Mac mini is down to its best-ever price with $200 off, available from $529

Update: Great news! Amazon has just reduced the price of the M4 Pro Mac mini by another $50, making it a new all-time low at $1,199 shipped. Previously priced at $1,399, you can now get the upgraded version featuring the M4 Pro chip, 24GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD at $200 off – this is the best price we’ve ever tracked on Amazon for this model.

For many users, the main appeal of Apple’s new M4 Mac mini lineup is the pricing. The starting price for the current generation M4 models is $599, but with ongoing deals, many affordable models are available starting from just $529, just $29 above the all-time low on Amazon. However, those needing extra power for tasks like content creation or using applications like Logic Pro and Final Cut can find great value in the M4 Pro model, which is now available with a $150 discount. More details below.

Currently, you can grab the Apple M4 Pro Mac mini with 24GB RAM and a 512GB SSD for just $1,199 shipped. This is a direct $200 price cut, $50 less than our previous mention, and it represents a new Amazon all-time low. This is the first instance we’ve witnessed this configuration retailing for under $1,299.

Again, some shoppers may prefer the more budget-friendly M4 models of the mini, which are the most economical Macs in the current generation lineup, and perfect for users not requiring extra performance power.

Apple’s budget-friendly 24GB 16-inch M4 Pro MacBook Pro is back to the Black Friday all-time low with a $300 discount

We’ve been monitoring significant $200 price cuts on the lowest-cost M4 MacBook Pro for over a week now, but the Amazon Big Spring Sale has returned the best price ever on the 16-inch M4 Pro. You can now purchase the 16-inch M4 Pro MacBook Pro with 24GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD for only $2,199 shipped – a remarkable $300 reduction from the usual $2,499 price tag.

This is the base model of the 16-inch M4 Pro, combined with 24GB of RAM and the standard 512GB of storage. While we previously noted a price point of $2,129 earlier this month, Amazon has stepped up again to match the lowest pricing ever with a solid $200 discount. We’ve only seen this model’s price drop to similar levels once before, during Black Friday last year.

It’s clear we’re presented with a fantastic offer on a great device, and it’s hard to predict how long this price will last – we’ve only seen it at this level once before, and it took three months to drop back down.

Much as we highlighted in relation to the more premium 48GB deal we identified earlier with a $308 discount, the 16-inch models may not appeal to everyone. Many users seem to prefer the more compact versions, which are generally more affordable, but if you’re seeking a serious workstation for video editing or similar tasks, today’s deal is excellent.

For those considering alternatives, here are additional configurations available in case this particular offer doesn’t suit your needs:

  • 14-inch M4 MacBook Pro 16GB/512GB $1,399 (Reg. $1,599)
  • 14-inch M4 MacBook Pro 16GB/1TB $1,589 (Reg. $1,799)
  • 14-inch M4 Pro MacBook Pro 24GB/512GB $1,779 (Reg. $1,999)
  • 16-inch M4 Pro MacBook Pro 24GB/1TB $2,199 (Reg. $2,499)
  • 16-inch M4 Pro MacBook Pro 48GB/1TB $2,591 (Reg. $2,899)

Get Apple’s latest AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation for $149, the base set is available for $100

The AirPods Pro 2 are currently priced at $170, and we still have the base model AirPods 4 available at a low price of $100. Today, the AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation are also part of the Amazon Big Spring Sale. Regularly retailing at $179, you can now grab Apple’s AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation for $148.99 shipped – matching our earlier mention and representing the lowest price we’ve tracked this year.

Previously, we caught a short-lived deal on the ANC AirPods 4 ahead of last Christmas at the all-time low of $139, but today’s offer is otherwise among the best we’ve seen on the market. While there have been some transient, not-so-reputable offers from lesser-known online retailers for lower prices, they were very limited and not widely available – I personally wouldn’t have opted for them.

In my opinion, Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 are the pinnacle of in-ear listening experiences from Apple (as well as for countless others) – they were one of the most coveted products among 9to5Toys readers last year, even as the newer AirPods 4 launched in the previous fall, and they were featured in our 9to5Toys’ Favorite Things of 2024 for this reason.

That said, the AirPods 4 are a more affordable option, and we were quite impressed after getting hands-on experience with them last year – check out our review: Hands-on with AirPods 4: improved in every aspect.

Alongside Active Noise Cancellation, Siri hands-free voice commands, Voice Isolation, and Personalized Spatial Audio technology, they also come with a redesigned earbud form-factor featuring a “refined contour, a shorter stem, and quick-press controls for music or calls,” along with the “smallest wireless charging case in the industry.”

Eve’s HomeKit Secure Video smart home camera is now priced at $115 (almost 25% off)

In the ongoing Big Spring Sale and with Eve’s smart home promotion, we’re focusing on an excellent deal for one of our recommended HomeKit smart home cameras – the Eve Cam. Regularly priced at $150 and seldom seen on sale outside holiday events, it is now available at one of the best prices we’ve observed, priced at $114.95 shipped, reflecting nearly 25% off.

While the Eve Cam isn’t the latest model in the HomeKit camera lineup, it remains a top choice, even as recently reviewed in DMN last year. Here’s what we had to say:

Last week, I assessed the state of HomeKit Secure Video. While acknowledging that improvements are needed to address user demands into 2024, I stand by my statement that it’s still the best way for privacy-conscious individuals to utilize smart home cameras. The Eve Cam ranks among the best for HomeKit Secure Video.

Now available at a price below last year’s Black Friday discount, the Eve Cam supports HomeKit Secure Video – we previously noted, “Eve serves as a vendor almost merging with Apple in releasing first-party HomeKit products.”

It offers the essential 1080p video feed to your smart devices from a sleek black design, along with standard notifications and motion alerts one expects in this now-reduced price range – it is capable of differentiating between individuals and pets as well.

Be sure to explore the wider Eve Big Spring smart home sale, featuring the brand’s plugs, outlets, switches, and more starting from $30.

Apple’s iPad mini 7 is now $100 off as part of Amazon’s Big Spring Sale, starting from $399

The new iPad (A16) has been released and is currently available at a discounted price on Amazon, alongside the upgraded M3 iPad Air (which is also seeing its first significant deals here). Additionally, Amazon has reinstated the $100 price reductions on Apple’s latest and most compact iPad, the iPad mini 7. You can now find nearly every configuration of the iPad mini 7 on sale at $100 off, with prices starting from $399 shipped. Below, find a detailed look.

Amazon has the 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB models priced at $399, $499, and $699 shipped, respectively. This reflects a straightforward $100 discount on the standard prices, matching our earlier mention, and aligning with the lowest prices we’ve recorded so far.

Apple’s latest iPad mini 7, formally known as the iPad mini (A17 Pro), is the most cost-effective model that supports Apple Intelligence. The previously mentioned iPad (A16) is, of course, the least expensive model overall, starting at $329 on Amazon, but it does not boast compatibility with Apple Intelligence.

The iPad mini 7 debuted in late 2024 with the same compact 8.3-inch display as its predecessor, but with a notable 30% increase in CPU performance, a 25% improvement in graphics capability, and enhanced storage options – Apple has eliminated the 64GB models from the lineup. For side-by-side comparisons, check out our iPad mini 7 vs. 6 feature that breaks down all the updates.

Additionally, here are our top recommendations for iPad mini 7 cases and sleeves starting from $8.50.
