macOS Sequoia 15.2 Beta 4 Launched in Anticipation of Next Month’s Release

Apple has rolled out macOS Sequoia 15.2 beta 4 for developers. This latest update is timed closely with the upcoming public release. Here’s what you should look forward to in beta 4.

Focus on bug fixes and performance enhancements

Whenever Apple unveils a fourth beta version, it’s typical to observe a mix of improvements, new features, and notable modifications.

In the case of today’s beta 4, while enhancements may still be on the horizon, it seems Apple is primarily devoted to resolving bugs and making under-the-hood adjustments in anticipation of the imminent public launch.

Additionally, this update may incorporate the security patches that were first introduced in macOS 15.1.1 yesterday.

Apple is projected to release macOS 15.2 in early to mid-December. Considering the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday in the United States, which is a week away, the window for subsequent beta releases is quite limited.

As a result, while beta 4 is expected to perform more smoothly on your Mac compared to earlier iterations, significant changes may not be observed this time around.

Key Features of macOS Sequoia 15.2

ChatGPT

macOS Sequoia 15.2 is a significant update for Mac users, largely thanks to its enhancements in Apple Intelligence. The new AI features include:

  • Integration of ChatGPT in Siri: A powerful new component for Apple’s voice assistant.
  • Image Playground: An innovative application for generating original images using AI.
  • Enhanced writing tools: Users can now utilize ChatGPT for creating original text from the ground up, while Apple’s rewriting tools can now accept specific directives for tailored edits.
  • Language support expansion: Apple Intelligence now provides localized English support for users in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK.

Regrettably, Genmoji doesn’t seem to have been included, even though it appeared in the accompanying iOS and iPadOS 18.2 updates.

Apart from the Apple Intelligence features, macOS 15.2 introduces a new Weather widget for the Menu Bar, an update to Find My that allows sharing of lost items’ locations with others, along with some minor design and UI adjustments.
