Microsoft has updated the mobile app for Office, which finally is now optimized for iPad. And if someone is an avid iPad user when it comes to daily work and tasks, they will be thrilled to hear this good news. This means that PowerPoint, Word, and Excel can now all be used in one single application. But technically, the previous program can be used as well. Back in 2014, these applications were added individually to the iOS App Store. iOS, as well as Android, saw a unified application for them all about a year ago.
This can now be used in the iPad but only as a windowed version of the original iPhone application. But in 2021, Microsoft has changed the way for it, and iPad users can have their hands on the unified version of the application. The newest iPad application can also be used for additional functions such as signing a PDF document with an Apple Pencil. Another new one is the ability to turn an image into a word document or Excel to be edited.
Apple’s Good News With Microsoft
Microsoft’s application also has several other new features. But they may come at a “cost.” The application remains free for use. But it will require the subscription of Microsoft 365 if one wants to use the features of collaborating or sharings. The problem in this is that if one used iPad Pro, they would have to pay for a subscription even to use the application at all. The solution here is to continue using the older version of individual applications for Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Or you could still download them for free from the store.
Apple has pushed the iPad as a mobile work device recently. It intends to replace the laptop with the iPad. IPad Pro indicated this as it has a mouse as well as a trackpad. Considering the number of people who have subscribed to both Apple and Microsoft for work is beneficial.
