The Monster Hunter has recently launched its version for the Nintendo Switch, called Monster Hunter Rise. The game from the house of Capcom has received mostly positive reviews from critics. This version of the game is exclusively available for the Switch.
Nintendo’s gaming console is comparatively less powerful than the other mainstream ones. However, that has not prevented Capcom from maintaining the looks of the Monster Hunter series. Players are also finding added enjoyment from the gameplay features that are absent in the original.
New Tools, Pets, And More In Monster Hunter Rise
A brand new companion can be found in the game. The Palamute, which has the features of a wolf, can both attack targets as wells as give players a ride. The steed has high maneuverability and helps in covering the large maps in Monster Hunter Rise. The player can carry out several actions while riding it as well. The original game featured only a Palico, a cat-like companion.
Another interesting addition for gamers is the wirebug. Essentially a grappling hook, the tool helps you scale vertical surfaces and aid you in quickly changing your position in a fight. A recurrent complaint in the original game was the movement speed. With the wirebug, Monster Hunter Rise tries to address it.
The starting town in Monster Hunter Rise is reportedly more compact and easier to get around. The level design has been perceived as satisfactory for the equipment in the Switch. A new game mode feature is the latest addition called Rampage. The mode is akin to a tower defense game.
Monster Hunter Rise has so far impressed gamers with its pace and immediacy of the action. The game reportedly provides fun even when acquaintances are unavailable. As such, some reviews say that the game has outdone the original altogether.
