Netflix Titles Begin Appearing in Unified Watchlist of Apple TV App

Apple and Netflix appear to have found a mutual understanding, leading to a collaboration for integration within the Apple TV app. Some users in the United States are beginning to receive prompts to link their Netflix account with the Apple TV app on their Apple TV 4K devices.

Once connected, Netflix originals can be added to the Watchlist within the TV app and will also show up in the Continue Watching section. However, the integration seems to be a work in progress and is likely still rolling out.

The Apple TV queue is a key feature of the app. On both iOS and tvOS, the TV app gathers all the shows you’re viewing across different apps into a single list of upcoming content. Playback progress is synced, ensuring users are notified when new episodes become available. This allows for tracking streaming shows in progress across various services like Disney+, Max, and others in one cohesive list.

Historically, Netflix has not supported this feature, meaning their content was completely left out of the integration. However, with this recent rollout, it appears they are now embracing this initiative.

For those users who are seeing this feature, they can now link their Netflix account to Apple TV, allowing Netflix original series such as Stranger Things and Squid Game to show in their Apple TV watchlist. Nevertheless, playback progress functionality does not seem to be operational yet.

With users already encountering this feature, an official announcement from Apple and Netflix regarding their partnership is likely on the horizon. (As of this writing, Apple’s official list of supported apps has not been updated since March 2024, and Netflix is not included.)
