While Apple Store openings have decreased in frequency, the company persists in expanding its retail presence both in the United States and worldwide. Here’s a look at the locations set to launch this year in the U.S., along with some insight into Apple’s international strategies.
Three new Apple Store locations anticipated in the U.S. for 2025
Recently, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg provided a comprehensive overview of Apple’s plans for 2025.
Although he largely concentrated on hardware releases, he also shared information regarding new Apple Stores slated to open in the U.S. and elsewhere.
In the United States, there are approximately three new openings on the horizon.
- Apple Miami Worldcenter
- Apple Bradley Fair at a mall in Wichita, Kansas
- and potentially a location in Downtown Detroit
Gurman mentioned that an existing store in Ann Arbor, Michigan might also move and receive an “upgrade.”
While the first two locations appear relatively certain—with Miami Worldcenter already set to open on January 24—Gurman is less certain about the Detroit site.
The limited list likely indicates changing consumer habits favoring online shopping, as well as Apple’s emphasis on expanding in markets outside the U.S.
Apple’s plans for opening new stores globally
When looking beyond the U.S., Gurman provides less specificity but mentions various regions Apple is targeting.
He highlights that the first Apple Store of the year is scheduled to open on January 18 in Hefei, China, located at the MixC mall.
Additionally, there are new openings anticipated in at least six countries, including:
- Australia
- Canada
- China (including Shanghai and Beijing)
- France
- Germany
- India
Details remain sparse at this stage, but we will keep you updated as Apple officially announces its retail openings throughout the upcoming year.
