Apple has unveiled new RC (Release Candidate) builds for iOS 18.2, macOS 15.2 RC, and additional software betas. These updates follow last week’s initial RC releases and are anticipated ahead of the public launch expected later this week.
What to anticipate from the RC re-release
Last week, Apple made available RC versions of its upcoming iOS 18.2, macOS 15.2, and more. However, the company has opted not to distribute these RC builds to all users.
The current RC betas are likely to be the final versions of iOS 18.2 and other software, with no additional changes anticipated. Below are the new RC build numbers:
- iOS and iPadOS 18.2: Build 22C151
- macOS 15.2: Build 24C100
- tvOS 18.2: Build 22K155
- visionOS 2.2: Build 22N841
For those unfamiliar with RC betas, it’s important to note that they are primarily focused on addressing bugs rather than introducing new features. The aim of the RC is to resolve as many issues as possible before the official software launch.
Apple anticipates that today’s RC versions will be the exact software rolled out to the public. Typically, more than two RC builds are not released. Nonetheless, if a critical issue arises, a new RC could potentially be issued prior to the major release.
