Apple has just unveiled an updated RC (release candidate) version of iOS 18.4, which introduces further bug fixes and enhancements as the public release approaches.
New RC for iOS 18.4 may fix crucial bugs
This past Monday, Apple rolled out RC versions of its upcoming major software updates.
The upcoming launches include iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, macOS 15.4, visionOS 2.4, among others.
Typically, an RC build is seen as the last software version before it is released to the public.
However, as seen recently with macOS 15.4, Apple sometimes needs to issue a second RC build as part of the testing procedures.
Apple usually does not disclose the particular modifications made in each RC version, but a second RC is typically released if critical bugs have been identified that require resolution prior to launch.
The new RC issued today comes with the build number 22E240.
The initial RC released earlier this week was 22E239.
This latest build has been made available to all developers and public beta testers.
iOS 18.4 set to launch soon featuring these enhancements
When iOS 18.4 becomes publicly available, potentially as early as next week, it will introduce an extensive range of features.
Here’s a summary of the new additions that are on their way:
Additionally, there are numerous minor UI tweaks and adjustments that make this a particularly feature-packed update for iPhone users.
