Microsoft has recently announced that the older version of Edge web browser will be permanently eliminated from Windows 10 in April. There are two versions of Internet Explorer and Edge in Windows 10 but the tech giant declared that the previous version of the Edge web browser would be deleted soon.

Users Will Switch To The New Microsoft Edge

Microsoft informed that the legacy Edge will be completely eliminated from Windows 10 with an incoming update and users will move to the newer version. Tech experts have informed that even if a user has already switched to the new version, the legacy version is still present in the system.

Microsoft will reportedly cut the official support from the old application on 9th March. The company has also declared that the latest version of the browser will be available with the Windows 10 update thus users will be able to switch to it without any hassle.

The incoming security update is being referred to as “B” or “Update Tuesday” and it will be launched on 13th April 2021. Microsoft explained that with the update, the out of support version will be deleted from the system while the latest application will be installed automatically.

It is reported that Microsoft will also release another optional update in March that is known as “C”. The “C” update will also allow the system to make the new moderations.

The software company has informed that the security updates of Windows 10 will not create any problems for the users who have already opted for the latest Edge. It will neither cause any altercation nor reinstall the newer version. In this case, the update will only eliminate the out of support version and free up drive space.
