I’ve found myself thoroughly enjoying the process of testing MagSafe battery banks. I’ve experimented with various models: compact ones, thick ones, multifunctional variants, Qi2 types, and those featuring stands and fans; I think I’ve covered the spectrum. While many of these battery packs have impressed me with their unique features, one element from the original Apple MagSafe Battery pack has been noticeably absent from third-party options until now.
Don’t forget to watch our detailed video review below!
iOS Integration Feature
A standout feature of the Apple MagSafe battery pack was its seamless recognition by iOS devices. Attaching the battery to the back of the phone triggered a unique animation on the lock screen, and upon unlocking, it appeared in the battery widget. Here’s an example of that functionality.

Following Apple’s transition to USB-C for its iPhones and accessories, they phased out their first-party MagSafe battery pack. At that moment, third-party battery banks lacking this level of integration were unheard of. However, Kuxiu has now launched their new S1 and K1 MagSafe battery packs, both integrating this feature!
Both battery packs come with this exceptional integration, yet they showcase distinct features.
Kuxiu K1 3 in 1 Power Bank
The K1 stands out as the more intriguing of the two with its multifunctionality and stylish design. True to its name, this power bank operates as a 3 in 1 device. It can charge your iPhone and Apple Watch simultaneously while also acting as a kickstand. Additionally, both the MagSafe connection and the Apple Watch charger are compatible with AirPods Pro charging. So, it conveniently powers your primary three devices. Here are its specifications:
- 5000mAh battery capacity
- Qi2 15W magnetic charging
- 5W charging for Apple Watch
- 20W wired input and output charging
- Built-in kickstand for portrait and landscape viewing
- Weighs 182g
- Compatible with iOS widget integration
Another appealing aspect is its frosted glass exterior, which closely mimics the feel of your iPhone, adding a premium touch. The power bank is available in two colors: Black and Desert Titanium, retailing at $69.99.

Kuxiu S1 5000mAh Power Bank
This next battery pack features the same fantastic integration but is primarily a power bank. It lacks a kickstand and an Apple Watch charger. It is a premium, well-constructed Qi2 power bank. Here are its specifications:
- 5000mAh battery capacity
- Qi2 15W magnetic charging
- 20W wired input and output charging
- Weighs 145g
- Compatible with iOS widget integration
- Made with frosted glass material
Interestingly, one might assume this battery pack would come at a lower price due to its simpler nature; however, it actually costs an additional $10. This is due to its construction using solid-state materials. Below are some advantages of solid-state batteries compared to traditional lithium batteries:
- Solid electrolyte (ceramic, glass, polymer)
- Safer and non-flammable
- Higher energy density (resulting in longer battery life and a more compact design)
- Extended lifespan with more charge cycles
- Excellent performance in extreme temperatures
- Greater durability against wear and tear
On the product page for the Kuxiu S1, there’s a video showcasing it undergoing extreme stress tests, and it performs flawlessly. After two weeks of usage, it has remained pleasantly cool even to the touch. The S1 is available in black and natural titanium, priced at $79.99.

Final Thoughts and Availability
I find it amusing how I lean toward the simpler S1, as it’s thinner, lighter, and provides the same charging capacity. The K1 is an excellent option for weekend getaways, allowing me to charge my major devices without hassle. However, with its superior material choices, iOS widget integration, and multifunctionality, both of these packs rank among my top recommendations for MagSafe battery packs. Currently, they are available for purchase on Kuxiu’s website at $69 for the K1 and $79 for the S1.
What’s your take? Would you go for one of these options? Do you appreciate the design? Is iOS integration a feature you’re looking for? Let’s discuss in the comments below!
