Pikmin 4 Trailer Released Along With The Demo

Fans of Pikmin can currently play a miniature demo of Pikmin 4 in some Best Buy, Target, GameStop, and Walmart shops as well as on the US eShop. While completing the demo in-store will net you 200 My Nintendo Platinum Points, any progress gained in the digital demo will carry over to the full game once purchased.

Before its July 21 release, Pikmin 4 has made available a sizable demo, as reported by Wario64 on Twitter. In addition to being able to store your progress and carry it over to the full game when it launches if you download and play the demo on Switch, you’ll also be able to get a free Pikmin 4 Oatchi-Rider costume for the mobile game Pikmin Bloom.

After finishing the demo in-store, players receive a QR code that can be scanned to earn 200 My Nintendo Platinum Points. A Nintendo Account must be open in order to receive this reward and the complimentary Pikmin Bloom outfit.

Pikmin 4 Is Now On Nintendo

For fans eager to check out Pikmin 4’s own take on the series, the demo offers a respectable amount of material, including the character creator and co-op narrative mode. Check out GameSpot’s hands-on overview of the game for additional information on how the new Pikmin game handles the established series. The new video also highlights the multiplayer features of Pikmin 4, such as two-player cooperative gaming and head-to-head Dandori Battles.

The Pebble Pitcher is a feature that can be used if you’re playing with a smaller child or a Pikmin partner for the first time. It appears to be a minor addition for a second player along the lines of Co-Star Mode from Super Mario Galaxy when a backup player assists the main player by removing obstacles or distributing health items. In non-story missions, players can also cooperate.

Even seasoned Pikmin players will find something interesting here: Nintendo demonstrates the new Rewind Time function in Pikmin 4, which allows you to reverse disastrous events (such as the mass Pikmin fatalities).
