With the holiday shopping season in full swing, Apple is hosting an exciting promotion at select Apple Stores this weekend.
In select locations in San Francisco, Miami, Los Angeles, and New York City, live artists will create personalized gift bags for Apple patrons…
The live artists will be available at these Apple Stores from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. local time on Saturday and Sunday:
- Apple Union Square in San Francisco, CA
- Apple Aventura in Miami, FL
- Apple The Grove in Los Angeles, CA
- Apple Fifth Avenue in NY, NY
During these hours, Apple customers can have their gift bags customized by a live artist. You can find more about each artist below.

Apple Union Square – San Francisco
Erik Marinovich – @erikmarinovoich
- Erik Marinovich is a lettering artist and designer based in San Francisco, and is one of the co-founders of Friends of Type. Since 2009, he has been creating letters, logos, and typography for various brands. In 2012, he co-founded Title Case, a creative workspace that holds workshops and lectures. When not working with clients or teaching, Erik is on the road promoting “Keep Fresh Stay Rad” and “Let’s Go Letter Hunting,” two recent publications from Friends of Type by Princeton Architectural Press.
Apple Aventura – Miami
Jackson Alves – @letterjack
- Jackson Alves is a Brazilian calligraphy and lettering artist, as well as an educator based in Orlando, Florida. Graduating in graphic design in 2003, he’s dedicated the last twelve years exclusively to letterforms, collaborating with international clients. He has received accolades such as the 10th and 12th Graphic Design Biennial awards in Brazil and a “Certificate of Typographic Excellence” from Type Directors Club in New York City. His works are included in the permanent collection of The Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy in Moscow.

Katrina Centeno-Nguyen – @calligkatrina
- Calligraphy Katrina is a calligraphy business established in 2007 by the exceptionally talented Katrina Centeno-Nguyen. At just 19, she began her journey by addressing wedding envelopes for a friend. With a modest investment of $10 in a pen and envelopes, Katrina embarked on her first project. After securing a few more opportunities, she received significant attention from the renowned wedding blog, Project Wedding. Her natural speed, innate writing abilities, and vibrant personality quickly garnered the interest of luxury wedding clients, museums, and prestigious fashion brands, including Vogue, Dior, Ferragamo, and Chanel.

- Lynne Yun is a type designer, educator, and technology innovator based in New York City. She is the founder of Space Type, a studio that operates at the crossroads of type and technology. Recently, she also co-founded Type Electives, an online design school focusing on the future of typography.
