Public Beta 2 for macOS 15.2, iPadOS 18.2, and More Introduces Exciting New Features

Just one week after the initial public betas rolled out, Apple has unveiled new public beta 2 versions for macOS Sequoia 15.2, iPadOS 18.2, tvOS 18.2, and watchOS 11.2. Here’s everything that’s been updated.

What’s new in public beta 2

Numerous new features and adjustments were made in the first public beta last week.

As a result, the changes in beta 2 are relatively minimal:

  • iPadOS 18.2 introduces a customizable tab bar in the TV app for personalized navigation
  • Videos playing within the Photos app will now revert to the iOS 17 style of starting in fullscreen mode, rather than zooming in/out on tap
  • Refinements have been made to various interface components, including a revamped AirDrop icon

Overall, public beta 2 seems to concentrate primarily on performance enhancements and bug fixes. Anecdotally, this version appears to be more stable than previous ones.

iPadOS 18.2, macOS 15.2, and their respective updates are scheduled for public release in December. As we approach the launch date, Apple’s emphasis will likely shift toward stabilizing these updates rather than introducing new features.
