Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 Review: A Worthy Sequel

Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 Review: A Worthy Sequel

If you are looking for a light-weight, sleek-built device with a better battery backup available at a much lower cost, then the new Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 is for you.

The device is not a successor of the first Samsung Galaxy Chromebook but surely an improvement on the first one. Users of Chromebooks have often complained about the $999 pricing that is almost equivalent to a MacBook. But this time, Samsung has come up with Chromebook 2 that is marked at an affordable price. This successor is the attainable version of its earlier flagship model.

Several users note that the new Chromebook 2 is not a replacement for the first one. Other than the pricing, there are certain other key features where this device has made improvements.

Galaxy Chromebook 2 Have Two Price Variants

The earlier Chromebook was a premium device that had one of the best displays a laptop can have. It was a steady competitor of MacBook in this front. However, Samsung has completely reversed its target customers with the new Chromebook 2.

The Galaxy Chromebook 2 has not lost its premium touches but it comes at a more affordable price with a better battery and a sleeker design. Most importantly, it’s available in grey and red. Surely, there is a need for more red laptops.

However, to look at the things that Samsung has dropped in this model, the striking one is the 4K OLED panel. The new Chromebook has the cheaper alternative 1080p QLED panel. This model also lacks the fingerprint sensor and the stylus. The build of the new Chromebook 2 might be sleeker than most other Chromebooks but it is still heavier and thicker than its predecessor. This Chromebook is available in two variants, a $700 one and a $550 one.
