The acclaimed Apple TV+ series Severance is now available on physical media, with season one now ready for purchase on Blu-Ray.
This release comes a month before the highly-anticipated season two premiere, making it a perfect last-minute gift for friends who haven’t experienced the show yet, ensuring they are all set before season two starts on January 17.
Severance is among the few Apple Original series that have received a physical release. Typically, Blu-Ray editions are released years after the streaming launch and only in 1080p resolution.
Sadly, this holds true for Severance as well; the Blu-Ray offers HD quality with a 5.1 surround sound track. The complete first season, consisting of nine episodes, is divided across three discs.
For the best experience with 4K HDR video and a Dolby Atmos soundtrack, viewers should continue to watch the series on Apple TV+.
Since its debut in February 2022, Severance has been a massive success and has received numerous accolades, including 14 Emmy nominations.
With the season concluding on a dramatic cliffhanger, fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of season two. However, industry strikes and various production setbacks have pushed the premiere to January 2025, almost three years after the first season. A third season is thought to be in the works.
