Slack Introduces New Video Features To Improve Remote Employee Experience

According to Slack’s CEO, the company is moving forward to introduce new features to ease business communication in the virtual model.

The company talked about introducing some experimental features in its text-messaging app during its Frontiers Conference last October. At that conference, the aim of the company was to go beyond text-messaging and introduce new features to make communication easier between partners and business associates.

Last year, this messaging app gained a lot of popularity because of its ability to include several popular messaging apps in one platform. This made life easier for users as they did not need to shift from one platform to another for multiple conversations. However, Slack is currently looking forward to introducing another feature like video communication so that it can be more than just a text-messaging platform.

Slack To Include New Video Feature

Slack, like many other companies, believe that the world is not going to go back to its old pre-pandemic form. With the onset of the pandemic, several companies shifted base to the comfort of their homes and it is going to remain that way for some time to come as well. Despite the rollout of the Covid-19 vaccines, Slack believes that many companies will continue to work in a hybrid manner. This has led to the new concept that Slack is trying to introduce in its platform.

The company aims to include communication via video. However, the aim is not to bring another Microsoft Teams or Zoom into the market. According to the company’s CEO, they will introduce videos like that in Instagram stories.

Elaborating on the functioning of this kind of video-sharing, Slack’s CEO mentioned that companies will broadcast important announcements via such videos instead of company emails.
