The users of Snapchat recently reported that the Snapchat AI chatbot had been through a couple of issues on Tuesday night. To put it specifically, the AI went on to post a very mysterious Story on the profile, after which it stopped responding to text chats, which led to more than a few users being ill at ease.
The AI chatbot was rolled out to all of the global users of the social messaging app, which was initially designed to respond to the messages of the users- similar to a friend. It would also be able to recommend various places one could go to, along with the various lenses one could use, whilst responding in chat to any of the snaps that the users would send.
Snapchat AI Crashes Leading To User Panic
Unfortunately, the Snapchat AI temporarily stopped doing any of these things on Tuesday night, and started answering all of its chat messages through the same default response- that it had encountered a technical issue. Along with this, the AI chatbot then went on to post its first and only Story to the profile. While most of the media sites were unable to see the story, a few users mentioned that it had lasted for about a second. The story, for those who are interested, showed a flat beige area with the top quarter of the screen having a different flat color.
When asked for comment, the spokesperson for Snapchat AI, mentioned that the chatbot had gone through an outage- but that had been resolved. But as it turns out, the issue hadn’t been resolved immediately as most of the users found their snap to AI chatbot replied with “Hey, I am a bit busy at the moment.”
