Currently, Apple TV+ is showcasing one of its highest-rated comedies: Seth Rogen’s The Studio. However, the beloved comedy that will forever remain cherished—Ted Lasso—is gearing up for a new season. Here’s what we know about Ted Lasso season 4.
Season 4 is officially confirmed
Speculation surrounding Ted Lasso’s fourth season has been rampant since season 3 aired.
In recent months, numerous hints indicated a season 4 revival. From comments made by executives, cast members, and co-creator Bill Lawrence, to the renewal of cast contracts and the scheduling of production—anticipation has been building.
Finally, on March 14, 2025, Apple confirmed the news.

According to Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+:
“Ted Lasso has become a phenomenal success, captivating a devoted audience worldwide and providing endless laughter while promoting kindness and unwavering belief. Everyone at Apple is excited to continue working with Jason and the amazing creative team behind this show.”
Returning cast and creative team for the new season
As per early reports, nearly all the cast members from Ted Lasso are set to reprise their roles for season 4, which is excellent news given the strong ensemble cast.
Several actors have already had their contracts renewed, while discussions are ongoing with others.
However, there are rumors regarding Phil Dunster, known as Jamie Tartt, who might face scheduling conflicts preventing his full participation, although guest appearances remain a possibility.
Moreover, there’s an exciting addition to the creative team for the upcoming season.
As mentioned in Apple’s announcement, Jack Burditt (known for Nobody Wants This, Modern Family, and 30 Rock) has joined as an executive producer. He will be collaborating with Sudeikis in the writers’ room, which is promising given Burditt’s impressive background.
Jason Sudeikis returns, possibly in a reduced capacity

Jason Sudeikis, the charismatic lead, may not be as prominently featured in the new season of Ted Lasso.
Podcast host Matt Belloni mentioned on The Town that, from what he’s learned, Sudeikis won’t be in every episode of the upcoming season.
Many beloved cast members will return, but Sudeikis’s screen time will be limited.
Regardless of the accuracy of this speculation, I anticipate that Ted will still appear frequently in season 4, though potentially less than before.
This wouldn’t be surprising, as Lasso also took a step back in season 3 to let the ensemble cast shine more. Season 4 might continue this trend.
Season 4 will introduce AFC Richmond’s first women’s team

According to initial reports by Sigmund Judge, a significant storyline for the new season will revolve around the establishment of AFC Richmond’s women’s team.
Jason Sudeikis confirmed this during a recent podcast:
“We’re currently working on season four; that’s the official news. Ted will be coaching a women’s team.”
It’s likely that while the men’s team will still be central to the series, Richmond will expand its horizons by introducing a women’s team for the first time.
When to expect season 4 on Apple TV+

Initially, filming for Ted Lasso season 4 was scheduled to commence earlier this year. However, that did not materialize, and recent reports suggest filming will start in the spring.
There remain several variables that make it challenging to establish a tentative release date on Apple TV+.
New episodes of Ted Lasso are unlikely to debut in 2025. However, if they do roll out this year, season 4 is expected to premiere sometime in 2026.
Apple TV+ is available at a subscription rate of $9.99 per month, offering popular series and films, including Ted Lasso, Severance, The Morning Show, Silo, and Shrinking.
