The Top 5 Apple Announcements I Discovered at CES 2025

CES 2025 was truly an exciting experience. It’s the only event worldwide where you can explore innovations ranging from toothbrush technology to robotic vacuums featuring extendable arms. Every brand seems to be showcasing some version of an AI assistant, smart glasses, health wearables, or powerful GaN chargers that claim to recharge a multitude of devices at lightning speed (alright, maybe that’s a tad exaggerated). Amidst the hustle and bustle, several Apple-related products and accessories really caught my attention. Here are five standout items I encountered at CES.

Don’t forget to check out our video recap highlighting the top Apple-related announcements from CES, complete with hands-on demonstrations of many of the showcased products!

1. Aukey’s Latest Charging Series

Aukey is renowned for producing high-quality charging and battery accessories for a wide array of Apple devices like the iPhone, AirPods, Apple Watch, and more. This year, their charging series focused on two essential aspects: enhancing cooling mechanisms within their chargers and providing a comprehensive charging solution beyond just the primary devices. Their new lineup is called the MagFusion line.

MagFusion 3 in 1 Pro Magnetic Charger w/ Cooling

  • Compatible with iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods.
  • Features an Omnia-Frez cooling system that includes a thermoelectric cooling chip, high-velocity fan, silicone thermal pad, and cooling fin.
  • Qi2 certified, capable of 15W fast wireless charging.
  • Supports rapid charging for Apple Watch Series 7 or newer.
  • Offers adjustable viewing angles up to 30 degrees.
  • Includes a braided cable and a 45W charging brick.

The price for this charger is set at $129.99 and is available now.

MagFusion Titan 6 in 1 Magnetic Charger

  • Can charge 2 iPhones concurrently via Qi2, along with an Apple Watch, AirPods Pro, and features 2 additional USB-C output ports.
  • Offers 180-degree adjustable magnetic mounts.
  • USB-C output ports support 18W charging.

This product is set to launch later in 2025.

2. Satechi M4 Mac Mini Hub and Enclosure

While I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my new M4 Mac Mini, I’ve noticed the absence of an SD card reader and at least one USB-A port. Even though the transition away from USB-A ports is rapidly advancing, many peripherals still rely on the USB-A connector. Satechi’s latest M4 Mac Mini hub seeks to address these gaps and add even more functionality. For detailed insights, I have a comprehensive hands-on review available. Here are the key features:

  • USB-A 3.2 Ports: Providing transfer speeds up to 10Gbps for quick file transfers.
  • Integrated SD Card Reader: Supports speeds up to 312MB/s, ideal for rapid photo and video transfers.
  • Built-in SSD Enclosure: Accommodates up to 4TB of NVMe storage for backups or media libraries.
  • Accessible Power Button: The hub provides easy access to the Mac Mini’s power button, eliminating awkward reach.
  • Heat Dissipation Vents: Keeps your Mac Mini cool, even under heavy usage.
  • Cable Management: Comes with a built-in, plug-and-play cable to maintain a tidy setup.

This accessory will retail for $99, launching in a limited capacity on February 17th, with global availability in March. I’m genuinely excited about this release.

3. Ohsnap Mcon Switchblade

This gadget is undeniably one of the most eye-catching discoveries at CES this year. If you’re a mobile gaming enthusiast, you’ll definitely want to take a look at this. OhSnap, the brand behind various iPhone cases and MagSafe accessories, unveiled their latest gaming controller—the Mcon. This portable gaming controller magnetically attaches to the back of your phone. When stored, it retains the same size as an iPhone, but with the press of a button, it expands to reveal the controller.

The controller features dual foldable handles for improved grip, along with full-sized hall-effect joysticks and highly responsive tactile buttons. It connects via Bluetooth and has a 450mAh rechargeable battery via USB-C. As this product is still in its early stages, they haven’t established an exact battery life, though they mention it consumes “very little power.”

Currently on Kickstarter, the Mcon had an initial goal of $25,000 but has already surpassed $1.2 million in backings as of this writing. The early bird price is $119, with a regular retail price of $149. I’m optimistic about this product, especially because I enjoy emulating games on my iPhone.

Shiftcam, a brand known for its iPhone photography accessories, has achieved the seemingly impossible with their latest release—the Planck SSD. This compact SSD comes in both 1TB and 2TB sizes and fits seamlessly with your iPhone.

  • Offers transfer speeds up to 1050 MB/s.
  • Supports ProRes recording at 4K/120.
  • Drop-proof and IP65 water-resistant.
  • Weighs only 10 grams.

Shiftcam will launch a Kickstarter campaign next month for preorders, offering the 1TB model for $125 and the 2TB model for $199. Details on the Kickstarter page will be available soon.

5. Moft FindMy MagSafe Wallet Stand

I’ve been a fan of Moft products for years. They specialize in crafting high-quality, practical accessories for the iPhone, often incorporating unique origami designs for added functionality. Their best-selling MagSafe wallet stand is a prime example, accommodating up to four cards and allowing your iPhone to be propped up in three different modes.

At CES, they announced an upgraded version of this wallet stand, featuring several improvements:

  • Integrated FindMy support.
  • Four-month battery life with the ability to recharge via MagSafe.
  • Bluetooth range of up to 40 meters.
  • IP68 dust and water resistance.

The wallet is not yet available for purchase but is expected to launch in the first half of 2025, with an estimated retail price of $49.99, along with early discounts. I’m excited to be among the first to get my hands on one! For additional details, check out the product page.

Honorable Mention: Even Realities G1 Smart Glasses

For me, this product was the highlight of the entire event. These glasses exemplify what I envision for the future of smart eyewear. They are incredibly user-friendly, practical, and non-intrusive compared to others I’ve encountered. After a live demo, I had one of those enlightening moments where I recognized their potential for widespread adoption. Here are some key features:

  • Discreet heads-up display projecting sharp green digital text (640 x 200 pixels) onto the lenses, delivering real-time data without obstructing vision. The interface is only visible to the wearer.
  • Features such as real-time language translation in 13 languages, turn-by-turn navigation, a presentation teleprompter (which I’m especially thrilled about), and an AI assistant for immediate information.
  • Constructed from titanium and magnesium, making them ultra-light and comfortable.
  • Battery lasts for 1.5 days, with the carrying case offering an additional 5 days of battery life, similar to the AirPods Pro charging concept.

The G1 Smart Glasses are available for purchase on the Even Realities website today, with various color options, prescription additions, and sunshades offered. Pricing starts at $599. I’ll be testing a pair soon for a thorough review, so stay tuned for more content!
