TikTok Expected to Rejoin App Store Ahead of Upcoming iPhone Launch This Month

In a breaking update from Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, it has been reported that Trump’s attorney general, Pam Bondi, has written a letter to Apple allowing the company to reinstate TikTok in the App Store.

The situation regarding TikTok on iPhones is quite complex. Users who already have TikTok installed on their devices can continue using the application. Additionally, TikTok remains accessible via the web.

However, TikTok is unable to push app updates through the App Store. Users cannot re-download the app if it is uninstalled, and crucially, it cannot be transferred between devices for Apple’s upcoming low-end iPhone release next week. For instance, the app will not restore from an iCloud backup.

According to Gurman, Apple has confirmed that the app will be reinstated on “Thursday evening.”
