President-elect Donald Trump is anticipated to attempt to block a possible U.S. ban of TikTok next year. He made a commitment during his campaign to safeguard the widely-used social media platform if he secured victory, per sources acquainted with his stance. The popular video-sharing app must find a new owner outside of China by January or risk losing access to U.S. users due to a law enacted in April with cross-party support.
One of these sources, Kellyanne Conway, is directly quoted in the article: “There are numerous methods to hold China accountable that do not involve alienating 180 million U.S. users monthly.”
