Every minute of The Game Awards, Valve will randomly select one Steam user to receive a Steam Deck.
As long as they are eligible and adhere to a few straightforward rules, anyone in the US, Canada, the UK, or the EU can win a 512GB Steam Deck. Registration is necessary, and Valve will validate your country by making sure you bought something on Steam between November 14, 2021, and November 14, 2022. Only residents of the US, Canada, UK, or EU, where the system is currently sold, are eligible to enter and win.
A Steam purchase is also required between November 14, 2021, and November 14, 2022, to confirm your location and demonstrate that your account is open and unrestricted.
Don’t Miss The Big Valve Giveaway
The only additional requirement is that you must view The Game Awards live on Steam to qualify. On December 8, from 7:30 p.m. ET to 10:30 p.m. ET, Valve will be giving away 180 Steam Decks via a live stream. And even if you don’t win one, Valve is giving away an exclusive animated Steam Pal digital sticker to everyone who registers to participate. This demonstrates that Valve is no longer short on Steam Deck stock if nothing else.
Orders for the docking station opened when the backlog for the handheld expired in October. Buy now or wait till December 8 and pray for luck if you want one for Christmas as the current delivery time projections for the 256GB and 512GB variants are up to 2 weeks. Along with playable demos for the occasion, there will also be a sizable discount.
Please take note that while the main event (and giveaway) begins at the hour indicated above, the pre-show begins 30 minutes sooner.
