The next avenue on the video game franchise of Call of Duty will be a rare direct sequel, called the COD MW3. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will be released on the 10th of November to Microsoft Xbox Series X, S, and Xbox One, Sony PlayStation 5 and PS4, plus multiple PCs on Battle.net, and Steam. The game will pick up where it previously stopped in 2022’s “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II”. Over the last few years, this will be the first time that the video game franchise has actively carried forward a story in back-to-back years. Usually, the game developer Activision employs various studios to create a COD game every three years, with differing plotlines.
COD MW3 To Be One Of The Year’s Best Games?
In COD MW3, developed by Sledgehammer Games, partnered with Infinity Ward, Task Force 141 and Captain Ray Price will be confronting Vladimir Makarov, the new villain that they learned about after they stopped a global threat in Modern Warfare II. The previous chapter was a massive success, as it generated around $1 billion in sales in just the first 10 days after it was released on the 28th of October 2022.
The new trailer for COD MW3 has put out certain highlights that could delight players. Those who routinely play Warzone, or COD MW II, can also opt into a special mission where they would be providing intel for the single-player story campaign. Also, one would be able to use weapons that they had locked in the previous chapter. Players would be delighted to see the return of the Minimap, as a red dot mark will appear when an enemy fires an unsuppressed weapon during multiplayer matches. Activision has mentioned that the COD MWIII will have the largest multiplayer map, with 12 new maps, and 16 updated maps from the 2009 game, Modern Warfare 2.
