Update: Initially, watchOS 11.4 was listed as released on Apple’s website, but that information has since been removed. The timeline for its return remains unclear.
Apple has rolled out watchOS 11.4 for Apple Watch users. While this update isn’t extensive, it introduces a handful of fresh features alongside a vital bug fix. Here’s what you can expect.
New Alarm Option, Emoji, and More in watchOS 11.4
While Apple Watch updates may not be as significant as those for iOS, iPadOS, and other platforms, every enhancement is valuable.
With watchOS 11.4, Apple has introduced the following features and fixes:
- Support for Matter-enabled robotic vacuums, which can be integrated into the Home app for use in scenes and automations—simply ask Siri to “clean the living room.”
- An option that allows the Sleep Wake Up alarm to override Silent Mode.
- Seven new emoji added to the emoji keyboard.
- A fix for the issue where face selection could become unresponsive while switching faces.
The inclusion of Matter-compatible robotic vacuums and new emojis is also featured in Apple’s updates today, including iOS 18.4.

However, the new Sleep Wake Up alarm feature is exclusive to watchOS.
I’ve elaborated on this feature in detail here; it allows you, for the first time, to keep your Apple Watch in Silent Mode while still receiving a sound alert for alarms.
I frequently use my Watch in Silent Mode to receive only haptic notifications, making the addition of an audible alarm a welcome enhancement.
