Apple launched the initial beta of iOS 18.3 two weeks ago. However, for those not participating in beta testing, the public release of the update should be just around the corner.
Here’s when you can expect Apple to roll out iOS 18.3…
iOS 18.3 Release Date
The beta testing timeline for iOS 18.3 is expected to closely follow the pattern established by last year’s iOS 17.3 beta testing. Here are the significant dates from the iOS 17.3 beta cycle:
- Beta 1: December 13, 2023
- Beta 2: January 3, 2024
- Beta 3: January 9, 2024
- Release Candidate (RC): January 17, 2024
- Public Release: January 22, 2024
This indicates that the second beta of iOS 18.3 may be released later this week or early next week, followed by one additional beta and the Release Candidate.
What’s New in iOS 18.3?
Unlike the substantial updates provided by iOS 18.1 and iOS 18.2, iOS 18.3 is a relatively minor release. This update concentrates on resolving bugs and enhancing performance, without introducing any new features related to Apple Intelligence.
- Support for robot vacuums in the Home app
- Updated icon for the Image Playground app
- Fixes for the Writing Tools API and Genmoji
- Login to the Feedback app now available via Face ID or Touch ID
- The Camera Control menu icon on the Accessibility settings page has been updated to support dark mode
As for future updates, Apple is anticipated to ramp up developments for iOS 18.4, which is likely to include significant new features related to Apple Intelligence. It is expected that iOS 18.4 will enter beta testing later this month and could be made widely available in March or April.
