Windows 11 Start Menu Introduces iPhone Support for Phone Integration

In a recent announcement aimed at Windows Insiders, Microsoft has revealed that the Start menu’s phone integration on Windows 11 is now compatible with iPhone. This feature was initially trialed with Android devices last year, with iPhone functionality anticipated for future updates.

The integrated phone functionality in the Windows 11 Start menu streamlines the process of sharing files between a PC and an iPhone. Microsoft has highlighted additional capabilities that come with this phone integration:

iPhone users connected to Windows 11 can now access their phone features straight from the Start menu. This integration provides iPhone users with the same advantages as Android users, such as viewing the phone’s battery and connectivity status, accessing messages and calls, and monitoring recent activities, all conveniently available in the Start menu.

Here’s a look at how this appears on Windows 11:

Microsoft is rolling out this feature to Windows Insiders (beta testers) participating in the Dev and Beta Channels starting today. To utilize this functionality, the following software and hardware requirements are necessary:

  • Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 4805 or higher for the Beta Channel and 26120.3000 or higher for the Dev Channel.
  • Phone Link version 1.24121.30.0 or above.
  • Your PC must be logged in with a Microsoft account and possess Bluetooth LE capability.
